Sunset In SoCal

So, here I am…

After a relatively expedient and uneventful afternoon of travel, I’m settled in at Gus and Patrick’s, blogging tonight via ethernet cable (because for some unknown reason, my laptop can’t locate their network wirelessly). As they tend to do, plans have shifted slightly; my friend Hamish and John will be meeting with me tonight due to an unexpected parental visit–from Melbourne, no less!–which is just as well, since it turns out that my host Gus is one of the hosts at a new party at Faultline tomorrow night, so now I’m free to attend that.

Riding the Flyaway shuttle from LAX to Hollywood was such an interesting experience, once we’d actually gotten into Hollywood. In the time since my last trip here, I’ve reopened a lot of my energy channels, and I feel more tuned in to the atmosphere around me…looking at all the palatial houses in Hollywood (and thinking of the “star maps” that hucksters sell to tourists), I could sense the energy of money, of fame…the mysterious power of the Hollywood elite…

Guess where I am!
Guess where I am!

Hell, even the Hollywood subway station is a temple to the power of film. LA is an American epicenter of the strange powers of modern telecommunication and what Lady Gaga aptly named “The Fame Monster.” I feel the eminence of this power bubbling constantly under the surface.

The adventures begin…I’m keeping this short. Wish me luck.
